Times Square through Fisheye Lens

Times Square
Fisheye

I had a one-week spring break!

I went to Lake Mohonk in New York in the first part of the break. Around the lake, there are several hiking courses and, most amazingly, there is a hotel that looks like a castle...no, I mean the hotel is the castle! I am going to upload some pictures someday. It's amazing anyway. I actually had fever and could not take so many pictures...

This picture was taken in Times Square in New York City. Almost all people say that Times Square IS THE NEW YORK!! But, people living in New York City do not pay so much attention to it and just walk through...only tourists go there...lol
But, still, I like this place.
I took a picture of such place, using fisheye lens. It's not so beautiful, but you find something interesting, right? I hope you do. I think that I could take advantage of the lens. I love this picture.

Waiting at Gyu-kaku for Dinner

Gyu-Kaku Mid-Town
New York City

Gyu-kaku in New York City is a place for people who have not long been to Japan.

Not only Japanese, but also Americans as well as many people visit there.

I went there last weekend. Gyu-kaku was crowded, and I needed to wait for several minutes. This pictures was taken to kill the waiting time.

I didn't care where to focus or brightness and took this.

I just wanted three logos in one picture. That's it.

No matter how its quality is or what the background is, I purely like this picture.

By the way, If you want to know...the address of Gyu-kaku:
805 3rd Ave. 2nd Floor, New York 10022

Not Hateful Traffic Jam

Traffic Jam
with Beautiful Sunset

While driving to New York City, I got stuck in a traffic jam, and I took this picture. This was just after I took a picture of a beautiful sun.

What I wanted were...

Well, I didn't really care about the quality or positions of objects, but I just wanted cars behind me showing up on the room mirror and cars in front of me also showing up in the picture. That was enough for me. Because I was driving, and it would be dangerous to look at objects through the small window of the camera......because it was too close to the mirror if I used the window...So, I just shot a picture toward the direction which I just felt was good. Then, what picture could I take? This picture. Isn't it a quite good picture?

However, if there was a problem......the mirror and the back glass were very dirty...
I regret not cleaning them up so often. If I had cleaned up, I might have taken a better picture.

Wait, but, I don't usually clean up my car......
Well, I should...I mean I will clean it up more often......
Having said that, I don't think I will...

This is consequence of the picture.

I think the road is Highway 87 running from north to south on the east side of New York.
I don't know if it's called highway though

My First Blog

Grand Central Station
New York City
Hello,
I made this blog because I got very interested in taking pictures recently and wanted to have a blog about photos.

Process from "Single-lens reflex camera? no way!" to "I love it."

"I like taking pictures."
"But I'm using a normal digital camera."
"I don't care what camera if its quality of photos is good."
"Why do I always buy Exilim?"
"Because the first camera I've got was Exilim, so I thought it's easy to use."
"But, my camera stopped working well..."
"Then, which one should I get for the next? Cheaper is better...I found one that is about $450."
"Wait, I'm in the US, so I think I can find cheaper but good one."
"Then, my friend suggested me to get single lens-reflex camera."
"I have never thought of having such a seem-to-be-very-difficult camera!"
"It's too big, and I don't find anything different..."
"But it's about $500...well..."
I started thinking about it seriously.
"Having lived in countryside of New York for 10 months...
I have never been to New York City."
I had a plan to go there.
"Yea, I'm gonna buy one!!"

Accordingly, what I got was Pentax K-r.

My friend advised me that this is friendly to beginners.

In conclusion, because I take many pictures, I wanna show them to somebody.
That's the origin of my blog.

There are many blogs of professional cameramen introducing their techniques, but these blogs are too difficult to understand!! (=my experience)
Therefore,
This blog is the photo blog that a beginner cameraman writes and that is easy to understand for everyone.
