Times Square through Fisheye Lens

Times Square
Fisheye

I had a one-week spring break!

I went to Lake Mohonk in New York in the first part of the break. Around the lake, there are several hiking courses and, most amazingly, there is a hotel that looks like a castle...no, I mean the hotel is the castle! I am going to upload some pictures someday. It's amazing anyway. I actually had fever and could not take so many pictures...

This picture was taken in Times Square in New York City. Almost all people say that Times Square IS THE NEW YORK!! But, people living in New York City do not pay so much attention to it and just walk through...only tourists go there...lol
But, still, I like this place.
I took a picture of such place, using fisheye lens. It's not so beautiful, but you find something interesting, right? I hope you do. I think that I could take advantage of the lens. I love this picture.

Fisheye from My Room

Fisheye Lens
From My Room

I bought fisheye converter lens.

Something like this. Sorry, this is a link to Japanese website.
Mine is this:
Fisheye Converter

If you buy such converter lens, you can just put it on the lens that you are using and take a picture, in this case, fisheye.

I've read some reviews before buying it. The reviews say like:
- Low quality of picture
- Too heavy
- Too big
and so on. BUT, if you really care about the quality, don't buy a converter lens, but get a real fisheye lens!! This is my opinion. I THINK that the quality is not so bad...I don't even notice...It's still very good as you can see on the picture on the top.

I have never used a real fisheye lens though...

The day I took the picture was really nice, sunny, sunny, sunny. But I wanted more clouds so that I could take a better one, I think.

Snow View from My Room

Snowing in East New York

This photo was taken like three weeks ago. It didn't snow so much this year in New York. This is really strange weather condition.

I lived in northern area last year, so I don't know about here...but I'm sure it is not normal.

In the end of October 2011, suddenly it snowed too much. I thought it would be the beginning of winter. However, how was it? Little little snow through the winter.

In December of the last year was like it's not too much to say that it snowed everyday. Always, there was snow outside, school was cancelled so often due to snow, and all cars were running so slowly and slipping.

Although I believed that winter in New York would be like the last year, in the second year, where's New York's winter?

In the beginning of February, it snowed. Oh, this is New York! I eventually saw the New York! I don't want it to snow though. It's dangerous, cold, and too hard to go to school....

Anyway, this picture was taken from my room.

I don't know what I wanted to say.

Waiting at Gyu-kaku for Dinner

Gyu-Kaku Mid-Town
New York City

Gyu-kaku in New York City is a place for people who have not long been to Japan.

Not only Japanese, but also Americans as well as many people visit there.

I went there last weekend. Gyu-kaku was crowded, and I needed to wait for several minutes. This pictures was taken to kill the waiting time.

I didn't care where to focus or brightness and took this.

I just wanted three logos in one picture. That's it.

No matter how its quality is or what the background is, I purely like this picture.

By the way, If you want to know...the address of Gyu-kaku:
805 3rd Ave. 2nd Floor, New York 10022

Not Hateful Traffic Jam

Traffic Jam
with Beautiful Sunset

While driving to New York City, I got stuck in a traffic jam, and I took this picture. This was just after I took a picture of a beautiful sun.

What I wanted were...

Well, I didn't really care about the quality or positions of objects, but I just wanted cars behind me showing up on the room mirror and cars in front of me also showing up in the picture. That was enough for me. Because I was driving, and it would be dangerous to look at objects through the small window of the camera......because it was too close to the mirror if I used the window...So, I just shot a picture toward the direction which I just felt was good. Then, what picture could I take? This picture. Isn't it a quite good picture?

However, if there was a problem......the mirror and the back glass were very dirty...
I regret not cleaning them up so often. If I had cleaned up, I might have taken a better picture.

Wait, but, I don't usually clean up my car......
Well, I should...I mean I will clean it up more often......
Having said that, I don't think I will...

This is consequence of the picture.

I think the road is Highway 87 running from north to south on the east side of New York.
I don't know if it's called highway though

Sunset along the Hudson River, New York

Sunset along Hudson River
~ Way to Get NYC ~
When I was going to New York City by car, I saw such a beautiful sun setting.
It was absolutely great.

I didn't do any setting to take this picture, but I did something like exposure setting? I don't know how what I did is called, but I just try to adjust the brightness.

It's great that there's a sense of perspective. It's cool.

I had long been thinking of taking such a picture. When I saw this sun, I immediately parked my car in the parking area that happened to be there, and I just started shooting pictures.

Usually, there would not be a parking area on such a local road, there was one. I think it's because of the landscapes; it's for people to shoot photographs.

I really enjoyed driving because all the landscapes I saw while driving were beautiful. At the same time, it was very dangerous that they dazzled my eyes. I couldn't concentrate on driving.

All in all, I happy for having such a good drive.
